This work is an exploration of texture and colour. The combination originated in scenes of the ocean by the seashore.
Looking at the endless pacific meets the blue sky, and the shore is full of grey and black gravel. The waves are lashing the water into white foam. The use of indigo dye provided a rich colour combination, perfectly capturing the essence of the ocean. Furthermore, I devised the pleating texture reminiscent of the wave by adding volume to silk. It so resembles ocean scenery that I can feel and see it.
